New Vicar!

Memo from the Archdeacon of Wells To: The Parish representatives and Churchwardens of the Benefice of Frome Holy Trinity.

“Following the recent interviews and the recommendation of the Parish representatives, we are pleased to announce that the Bishop has appointed the Reverend Ian Snares to the post of Vicar of the Benefice of Frome Holy Trinity. This appointment is subject to a satisfactory completion of the usual statutory checks made on all clergy taking up a new post.

Details of a Service of Welcome and Institution will be announced in due course.

Please hold Ian and Jo in your prayers as they prepare to begin a new ministry among us and pray too for Ian’s current congregation to whom this announcement will also be made today.

Archdeacon Anne has asked me to thank everyone involved in the process of bringing this new appointment to fruition.”

Ian is currently the Vicar at St Wilfred’s, Cowplain in the Portsmouth Diocese; he has been in post 7 years.

He is married to Jo, a senior school maths teacher, and they have two children aged 11 & 13.

He has an engineering degree from Brunel Uni and a Christian Theology degree from Ridley Hall, Cambridge.  Prior to ordination, he worked for the Ford Motor Company as a project development manager. Following a curacy in Ilfracombe, he was appointed to his current post, where he has been an Area Dean, involved in Messy Church, Youth for Christ and New Wine leadership development groups and conferences.

He is passionate about mission, evangelism and discipleship; he’s full of vision and dynamism and has a proven track record in leadership.  He is energetic, full of the Holy Spirit and full of fun, too!

He loves music and plays keyboard and flute and sings in his church’s worship band.

Tony Perry and I genuinely believe that he will be able to hold together the diverse congregations that we have at HTF and lead us forward to a very exciting new phase in the life of this church.

Chris Stafford (Churchwarden)
